Dr. Joe DeMarco, chiropractor and owner of OcraMed Health, discusses and demonstrates how to fix the condition known as Proximal Hamstring Tendinopathy.

Proximal Hamstring Tendinopathy is a common athletic injury. The athlete experiences pain in the upper hamstring tendon. Often times, this injury can linger for months. It occurs among a variety of athletes ranging from runners to weightlifters.

Most people experiencing this type of pain attempt to self treat the injury by stretching. This often aggravates the problem.

Dr. Joe discusses the 3 things that need to be addressed in order to fix this problem. First, fascial release work must be performed on the hamstring muscles. Second, he demonstrates how to strengthen the hamstring muscles. Third, Dr. Joe demonstrates how to stretch out the hip flexor muscles (which are often tight in this type of injury).
