Horror fans love Friday the 13th movies. The story of Jason Voorhees coming back from the dead after his mother Pamela Voorhees (Betsy Palmer) could no longer take revenge on the counselors at Camp Crystal Lake for letting her son Jason drown is a classic. The character of Jason Voorhees (who was either created by Victor Miller or Tom Savini, depending on who you ask) has become as iconic as any villain in the horror genre. Seriously, how iconic is that Jason hockey mask? The first Friday the 13th movie from 1980 is a classic. But all twelve films (yes, there are now twelve films - assuming you count Freddy vs. Jason and the 2009 reboot directed by Marcus Nispel), the video games, comic books, and the fan-made films, etc, are all popular and give us fans endless Friday the 13th things to talk about.

So when the actual day of Friday the 13th falls, what better place for fans to gather and meet than Blairstown, New Jersey? The filming location of the first Friday movie (from 1980, directed by Sean Cunningham). The Blairstown Diner (which was seen in the movie) is not only a great place to eat, but also offers a small convention known as the "mini con" right behind it. There's so many F13 fans there! Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco (the filming location of Camp Crystal Lake) in Hardwick, New Jersey, is a short drive down the road, and is usually closed to the general public (but on rare occasions does make special deals allowing some fans to enter). However, for me personally, I had such a great time at The Friday the 13th Museum on Main Street of Blairstown, that this video mainly focuses on that. That place is full of so many props from different movies and fan films. Please watch this video about it!
