The Suicide Squad is a team of DC comic book characters who were first introduced in The Brave and the Bold issue #25 (released in September 1959), though the more modern version of the team was introduced in Legends issue #3 (released in January 1987).

In 2016, a movie called Suicide Squad was released - starring Will Smith as Floyd Lawton / Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Common as Monster T, Jared Leto as The Joker, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, Jai Courtney as George "Digger" Harkness / Captain Boomerang , Karen Fukuhara as Tatsu Yamashiro / Katana, Cara Delevingne as Dr. June Moone / Enchantress, Adam Beach as Christopher Weiss / Slipknot and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Waylon Jones / Killer Croc.

In 2021, a sequel called the Suicide Squad was released. This movie was directed by James Gunn (known for Guardians of the Galaxy). This movie stars Idris Elba as Robert DuBois / Bloodsport, John Cena as Christopher Smith / Peacemaker, Sylvester Stallone as Nanaue / King Shark, David Dastmalchian as Abner Krill / Polka-Dot Man, Daniela Melchior as Cleo Cazo / Ratcatcher 2, Michael Rooker as Brian Durlin / Savant, Peter Capaldi as Gaius Grieves / The Thinker, Alice Braga as Sol Soria, Pete Davidson as Richard "Dick" Hertz / Blackguard.

Arrow was a popular TV show which ran from 2012-2020, and the Suicide Squad did appear on several episodes of this show. This show starred Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen / Green Arrow, David Ramsey as John Diggle / Spartan, Katie Cassidy as Laurel Lance / Black Canary, Colin Donnell as Tommy Merlyn, Willa Holland as Thea Queen / Speedy, Paul Blackthorne as Quentin Lance, and Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak / Overwatch.

However, this team's first ever appearance live action came in the popular TV show Smallville, which ran from 2001 - 2011, and was mainly about young Clark Kent before becoming Superman. Smallville starred Tom Welling as Clark Kent, Kristin Kreuk as Lana Lang, Michael Rosenbaum as Lex Luthor, Eric Johnson as Whitney Fordman, Sam Jones III as Pete Ross, Allison Mack as Chloe Sullivan, Annette O'Toole as Martha Kent, John Schneider as Jonathan Kent, John Glover as Lionel Luthor, Jensen Ackles as Jason Teague, Erica Durance as Lois Lane, Aaron Ashmore as Jimmy Olsen, Laura Vandervoort as Kara Zor-El / Kara Kent / Supergirl, Cassidy Freeman as Tess Mercer, Samuel Witwer as Davis Bloome / Doomsday, Justin Hartley as Oliver Queen / Green Arrow, and Callum Blue as Zod.
