Most people aren’t even aware that they’re developing this problem!

If you spend a lot of time looking down at your phone or working on a computer, you might be developing a “rounded shoulders” and “forward head” posture.

This is an issue that develops slowly over time and most people aren’t even aware that they have it until discomfort and pain start to settle in.

Headache, neck pain, tension and knots in their upper traps, and pain between their shoulder blades are long-term issues that can develop if this issue isn’t addressed.

In this video I’ll show you five simple stretches to “un-round” your shoulders, straighten up your posture, and help you out of some of the discomfort you might be experiencing.

CAN EXERCISE CORRECT POSTURE?
Poor posture is often developed over time as we hold our body in “less-than-optimal” positions. This includes sitting at work, looking at a phone, etc.

We develop tightness in some areas and weakness in others that eventually hold us in these “poor posture” positions and open the gateway for pain to creep in.

Luckily, the right stretches to muscles that are tight and the right strengthening exercises to muscles that are weak can help straighten up your posture and alleviate pain!

WHAT EXERCISES FIX BAD POSTURE?
When we’re referring to the posture in your neck, shoulders, and upper back, the structures that get tight are your pec major, pec minor, subscapularis, and thoracic spine. The proper stretching to these areas will help correct your posture, “un-round” your shoulders, and help you to look and feel better!
