Most of us (myself included) use leash corrections when our dogs become reactive on walks. In some cases, dogs begin to associate the leash correction with the reactivity. When this happens, it can actually drive the dog deeper into the behavior. Instead, take a different approach by teaching your dog to come back to your side when he feels anxious, reactive or unsure. It takes awhile to build this, but it's so worth it when you do.
