VN24 - 08-08-2022 - Beckum A2 / Germany - A few meters behind the Beckum junction, a truck-trailer combination overturned in the afternoon around 14:25 and has completely blocked the freeway in the eastbound direction of Hanover for several hours. According to the police, the trailer swayed for unclear reasons and caused the entire combination to lurch. The 44-year-old driver could no longer bring the truck under control. Subsequently, the motor vehicle and trailer toppled onto the right side and skidded across all three lanes of traffic into the central guardrail. The driver was able to free himself from his skylight and was taken to hospital with, fortunately, only minor injuries. During the recovery of the trailer (not shown in the film), the damaged right side wall burst open and the entire load of wine and champagne bottles, as well as food and peanuts, spilled out onto the road. A wheel loader was used to load the goods into a provided dump truck and dispose of them. The truck was then raised with the help of a mobile crane. The recovery and cleanup operations dragged on into the evening hours.
