Paterson, New Jersey. This may seem like just another city in Passaic County of NJ. But for fans of movies and television, there's actually quite a lot of locations and history here.
A scene of an episodes of Sopranos with Jackie Junior was filmed on 21st Avenue in Paterson.
Eastside High School in Paterson once had some events which the popular 1989 movie Lean on Me (starring Morgan Freeman and directed by John G. Avildsen) was based on.
The bridge which goes over the Great Falls of the Passaic River was a location for two episodes of the Sopranos. And it really is a spectacular waterfall - surprising to find in the middle of a city.
Lambert Castle is in the woods of Paterson. While no movie or TV show ever was filmed there (as far as I know), I think it's more than visually interesting enough to make a great filming location.
Legendary comedy actor Lou Costello (known for working with Bud Abbott) grew up in this city. And the city includes Lou Costello Memorial Park.
The 1999 movie the Hurricane (starring Denzel Washington) was about boxer Rubin Carter who grew up in Paterson, therefore some of the film was set there.
So, clearly there is a lot of movie and television history in Paterson, New Jersey. I'm sure there's more which I didn't even mention in this video. If you know of more, please leave it in the comments below here. Thank you.
