Follow along with Dr. Mike to learn how to massage the quad muscles! Aptly named, the quads encompass 4 muscles: the rectus femoris, the vastus lateralis, the vastus intermedius, and the vastus medialis. 👀

Start right above that kneecap and get in there with the thumbs to massage the tendon. (Note to Massage Therapists worried about Doc Mike’s thumbs–don’t be.) 🫢

Next, use some lotion and run the heel of the hand up the muscles. Alternate hands, and stop on any tight spots to work out the knots. If you’ve got a resilient partner, try getting in there with a forearm or elbow. Move to the outside and target that chronically tight IT band. Then move on to the adductor muscles of the inner thigh and even up to that crabby TFL if it suits you.

Leave no muscle unturned. Get in there and give your hard-working partner some relief. 😅And yes, you can massage your own quads too so no whining about being solo. You’ve got this! 🤝
