For All Mankind season 2 episode 2 has been released on Apple TV+. We pick up in the aftermath of Molly Cobb’s (Sonya Walger) decision to go into a solar radiation storm to rescue a fellow astronaut. Molly had removed her dosimeter, and is able to lie about being exposed. She’s still sent home and accompanies Ellen (Jodi Balfour) who is completing her last tour at Jamestown Base.

On earth at Johnson Space Center in episode 2 we see that Margot (Wrenn Schmidt) is stressed out with her role after the complications from the solar storm. She meets with Ed (Joel Kinnaman), Bradford from the Pentagon, and Thomas Paine (Don Donohue). Ellen returns to Earth and takes an administrative position and seems focused on a Mars Project. Margo is caught off guard when she gets a message that mentions Aleida.

Gordo (Michael Dorman) is still doing speaking engagements in episode 2, and he meets with Danielle Poole (Krys Marshall) and Ed at the Outpost. Dani’s husband Clayton has passed away, and she wants to go back to the Moon. Ed tells her he will set it up, but after he sees Gordo get really drunk he decides to send him back with her. Gordo had explained that he’s never been the same since his breakdown at Jamestown, and Ed wants to help him move past it.

Tracy Stevens (Sarah Jones) is moving on from her ex-husband, but is still involved in the space program. There’s tension between her and Ed because she didn’t tell Gordo about getting married before she announced it on TV. We see her with the family though, when her son comes home from the Naval Academy. We also see the Baldwin’s adopted daughter Kelly (Cythy Wu).

For All Mankind season 2 episode 2 is a character focused episode that sets up Gordo and Dani’s return to the moon. It also focuses on Molly’s situation, and how people close to her don’t believe the lie she’s telling.
