Standing in for the non available 6233 ‘Duchess of Sutherland’, LMS Jubilee no 45596 ‘Bahamas’ took the one way steam hauled section of Railway Touring Company’s “The Windsor Flyer” from Norwich to Windsor & Eton Riverside via Cambridge and the ECML to London then via Hounslow to its final destination, on Saturday 2nd September 2023 the day of which saw RMT rail strikes but didn’t affect the running of the charter train

Starting of at Ashwell & Morden the Jubilee’s double chimney exhaust can be heard loud and clear as she storms along the Cambridge-Hitchin line heading south

Finally and having navigated London 45596 puts on the power on the last leg of its long journey at Wraysbury on the Windsor branch

Both locations in this video are indeed believed to be the first time an LMS Jubilee has ever traversed both the Cambridge-Hitchin line (itself relatively rare trackage for steam) and the branch from Staines to Windsor, quite an opportunity to catch!
