The long awaited debut of LNER A4 no 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley’ in its new BR Express Passenger Blue livery took place over 2 weekends in April 2023 at the Nene Valley Railway where the A4 took part in its first revenue passenger runs in its new colours as well as a few private runnings and a photo charter, this being SNG’s first visit to the NVR since 1995, 28 years ago!

Filmed over the Easter weekend between Friday 7th-Sunday 9th April 2023 inbetween footplate duties I was able to capture Number 7 at a variety of locations on its passenger runs from Peterborough to Wansford including west of Peterborough NV, Orton Mere, Yacht Club, Lynch, 2 sides on Castor Bank, Castor straight & Wansford arrival

Also included in this upload is a comprehensive detailed look at various movements and scenes during the photo charter on the Friday 7th where the A4 was paired with the Nene Valley Wagon Groups collection of wagons and vans, with scenes at Wansford depicting the early 1950s, with the A4 stationed at both the west and east end of Wansford it was time for 4 runpasts in the fading spring light giving an opportunity to capture the A4 on the move from both sides of the River Nene before returning back on shed for disposal and a rest

Many of the lineside shots in this upload were taken with PTS & correct hand signals to the footplate crews as well as permission during the photo charter to go trackside for various shots
