In this episode of Insight, former host Jenny Brockie meets with people whose lives were changed after being saved by a stranger. Among the guests is Dan, who battled with mental health issues and found himself on the Harbour Bridge, contemplating taking his own life. Saved by Constable Arun Trevitt, Dan formed a strong bond with him, leading to a close friendship. Tracey, facing terminal lung disease, received a new lease on life through a double lung transplant, made possible by the generous organ donation from the Nguyen family, who tragically lost a loved one to depression. At just 3-years-old, Robert disappeared into the depths of Kelly’s Creek, witnessed only by another 3-year-old, Dean. Dean's quick thinking in alerting his father led to Robert's rescue. Remarkably, 47 years later, Robert and Dean were reunited. Ernie and his mother owe their survival during the Holocaust to a compassionate German guard who aided their escape, a story Ernie had kept silent about for 25 years of marriage to his wife, Lea. Marcel's life took a drastic turn when he collided with an oncoming car while riding his motorbike, resulting in the loss of his right leg. Genna, a student paramedic at the time, sprang into action, providing crucial first aid after witnessing the accident from her campervan.
