MAPS Client Projects is our workplace learning program in which young artists assist MAPS with producing media projects for nonprofits and small businesses that work to make Montana healthier, stronger, and happier. Youth participants experience real-world learning on-the-job training, gain hands-on experience with one-on-one targeted support from MAPS staff, learn new educational/career pathways, build their resumes/portfolios, and increase their scholarship eligibility. The Headwaters Foundation GO! Grant video project is a powerful example of MAPS workplace learning program.

Headwaters Foundation is dedicated to working side-by-side with Western Montanans to improve the health of our communities. They partner with organizations that work to reduce barriers to health and help ensure that everyone, regardless of their age, race, or income level, has the opportunity to thrive.

Headwaters Foundation is a trust-based funder committed to reimagining power dynamics in philanthropy. The "trust-based philanthropy" (TBP) model flips the script on traditional philanthropy through flexible and accessible funding, mutually accountable funder-grantee relationships, and more.

Targeted to organizations serving kids and families who live outside of Western Montana's major cities, Headwaters' GO! Grants ("General Operating") Program is an example of TBP in action and a game-changing model for many Montana organizations.

In 2023, Headwaters partnered with MAPS Media Institute to capture the stories of several GO! Grantees and share their perspectives on this unique grant program. What makes the story a little sweeter is that MAPS has received GO! Grant funds since 2018.
