DocLands Film Festival 2021 presents a conversation with 'There is a Place On Earth' Director Ellen van den Honert, and Film Subjects Bryant Austin and Harvey Locke with DocLands Director of Programming, Joni Cooper.

Art connects us through our hearts and is a powerful way to connect us with nature. Filmmaker-musician Ellen van den Honert takes us on a sublime cinematic journey around the world to discover the role of artists in wilderness conservation, artists who understand how profoundly beauty affects us—and the power it holds to spur us on to fight for what we know and love. Without early artists exploring Yellowstone National Park, there may never have been national parks, and without the idea of national parks being ignited there, there might never have been the concept of conservation early enough to make a difference within our lifetimes. While science hits us head-on with facts and statistics which can become burdensome, a message delivered poetically through words or images can envelop us as we begin to perceive our intimate—and vital—relationship with nature.
