Since 2012, Calm has been on a mission to make the world happier and healthier by solving the global mental health crisis. The company’s growth to its current billion-dollar market-leader stature has been anything but linear. In 2014, Calm had less than $10K in the bank, and struggled to raise a Series A. By early 2018, Calm had bagged a meagre $1.5M in funding, compared to a whopping $70M raised by its primary competitor Headspace. Yet only a few months later, Calm was crowned the Apple’s App of the Year and since then has assumed a market leader position.
