FLOGEN SIPS 2023 Awards: Professor Cristovam Paes de Oliveira, President of the Gorceix Foundation, Brazil

Dr. Cristovam Paes Oliveira, Executive President, Gorceix Foundation, Brazil was the winner of FLOGEN 2023 Shechtman International Leadership Award for leadership in the category Society/Public Organizations. The Award, that bears the name of Professor Dan Shechtman, 2011 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry, was given by Dr. Florian Kongoli, President of the SIPS Organizing Committee at SIPS 2023 Gala night and the Awards Ceremony, at Hyatt Dreams Playa Bonita Resort and SPA, Panama City, Panama on 29 November 2023

Professor Cristovam Paes de Oliveira has been president and executive president of the Gorceix Foundation since October 2001.

He has lead successfully various public organizations.
He has been Director of the Escola de Minas de Ouro Preto, Rector of the Federal University of Ouro Preto and currently is President of the Gorceix Foundation Board of Directors.

He has received many recognitions. They are among others the Gold Medal from the CONFEA-CREA/MG; Medal of Honor of the Inconfidência Mineira – Government of the State of Minas Gerais; Commemorative Medal for the day of the State of Minas Gerais, City Hall of Minas Gerais Mariana/MG; Masonic Medal of Inconfidência Mineira; Gold Degree - Grande Oriente de Minas General; Aleijadinho Medal, by the Municipal Foundation of Ouro Preto/MG; Gorceix School Medal of Minas/UFOP.

He is Member of honor of Société Française de Metallurgie et de Matériaux and Honorary Member of the Council of Rectors of Brazilian Universities and Council of Rectors (CRUB).

FLOGEN SIPS 2023 ( https://lnkd.in/djw3UjjK ) held in Hyatt's Dreams Playa Bonita Resort in Panama from 27 Nov. to 1 Dec. 2023 with the participation of numerous Nobel Laureates and many Distinguished Guests. It features about 50 scientific and technology symposia covering various distinguished fields. Academics, Engineers, Managers, Directors, CEOs, Medical Doctors, Lawyers, Economists and Politicians will be in attendance.

A visit to Panama Canal was included in the program.
