7 years in the making and a sight that hasn't been seen in over 2 years an LNER A4 Pacific would once again grace the mainline with the culmination of a heavy overhaul completed to 4498 'Sir Nigel Gresley' as the loco in its one off LNER Wartime Black livery worked her inaugural run with a Sir Nigel Gresley Locomotive Trust Members Special from Crewe to Carlisle via the S&C & return via Shap, on Saturday 21st May 2022

The A4 is seen in close encounters at Crewe ahead of departure time before she's seen firstly on her outward run speeding through Warrington Bank Quay on the WCML, following a battle up the Long Drag on the Settle & Carlisle the Pacific is next seen north of Lazonby & Kirkswold as she powers her train north towards Carlisle

On the return via the WCML direct she's seen putting on the power at Penrith North Lakes at the start of her run back to Crewe and finally catches the evening sunlight as she clags through Wigan North Western once again at speed

To have an A4 back on the mainline after long time gap has been a long time coming and i personally look forward to the next 10 years of her exploits!
