The Tesla Cybertruck has been getting in customers hands for a few months now, and in that time, we have had some quiet enhancements to the charging curve. Although there has been some criticism of the charging curve on the Cybertruck, I argue that it is already pretty good, and like the old days of the Model 3, the Cybertruck too will go through a charging curve development period.

On a recent coast to coast road trip in the Cybertruck, I decided to try to see what the charge curve looked like on higher voltage chargers out west. I was actually able to charge the Cybertruck on 2 800 volt DC Fast Chargers on the Electrify America charging network. Although the first charger had an issue that brought my starting point up to 5%, I was able to get a successful charge from 5-62% and 2-86%.

In both of these charging tests, the Cybertruck performed almost exactly the same. The Cybertruck is rated at 136 miles of charge in 15 minutes, or 40% in 15 minutes. That pretty much matched the charging speeds I saw on both tests.

Interestingly though the Cybertruck will be getting a "20% improvement in charging speed" in the coming weeks, so that should get us closer to that 45% mark in 15 minutes. Looking at that in comparison to the other Teslas, it still comes in last, but this next enhancement will bring it within striking distance to the Model Y in 15 minute charge cycle.
