We just took delivery of our new Tesla Cybertruck! Due to some pretty crazy circumstances, and being at the right place at the right time, I was able to take delivery of my brand new Foundation Series Tesla Cybertruck!

I was on the other side of the country, in Salt Lake City, UT, picking up a Tesla Cybertruck that needed to be shipped to Florida for a charity event in support of Make-A-Wish for EVject. When I made it about 200 miles into the 2,400 mile trip, I received a notice that one of 2 Tesla Cybertrucks that were not delivered in Salt Lake City was approved to be assigned to me.

Following that notification, I didn't hear much else from Tesla as this was the last day of the quarter, and the end of quarter push was hectic, I decided to take a chance and turn around driving the nearly 200 miles back from where I started. In that meantime, I was not hearing anything from Tesla about this Cybertruck and the VIN was not showing up in my app.

Once I arrived, back in Salt Lake City, I was informed that the Cybertruck that the store was willing to assign to me was taken over by Tesla corporate, and they were in the process of calling reservation holders in the city to find someone who could take delivery of this truck that day. Although my financing was approved, and everything in the app was done since February 12th, there was no way to intervene with Tesla Corporate to have this truck assigned on the spot.

So I gambled and stuck around until about 2 hours before the store closed, or roughly 6 pm. At that point, there was no sign that this was going to happen, and the 2nd truck was already picked up by the time I got back to Salt Lake City. So I headed back to EVject location to re-prep the truck I was in and start the trip back the way I came from, hoping to erase the 400 miles I had added to this trip before midnight.

As soon as I put the truck in drive, I received notification that my Cybertruck was ready for delivery, and despite the confusion, I was in total shock that this was happening. With that, I immediately headed back to the store and checked in for a 7pm delivery appointment and worked quickly to expedite my required actions to get this truck delivered ASAP.

I can't believe that I was able to make all of this happen so far from Florida, where I live. I also can't believe that since I was already delivering a Cybertruck to my local area, I would now have the chance to tow my Cybertruck with another Cybertruck!

This is the ultimate towing test, across the country, about 2,400 miles, with a towing load approaching the Cybertruck's capacity. Total weight was 9,546 pounds, which comes in about 1,500 under the max rated towing weight for the Cybertruck. All this, combined with the uncertainty of Cybertruck towing capability makes for the most exciting adventure, which I hope you will join me in!
