Today We Take A Look At 10 Disappointing Things We've Found With 2022 Toyota Tundra.

The Toyota 2022 Tundra comes with a lot of exciting features. However, there are areas where Toyota really could have stepped up. We’ve found 10 things that we were disappointed with so keep watching to find out what they are.

Number one. Our first disappointment with the 2022 Toyota Tundra is that it does not use the beloved V-8 engines. The Toyota comes with a V-6.
True, the V-6 engines are very good in terms of performance. They are also compact, generally lighter, and offer better fuel efficiency. However, the V-8 engines have more power. By pressing lightly on the accelerator of a V-8 truck, you will feel the power and strength of the engine. So the V-8 is better suited for hauling materials, towing equipment, and other worksite needs.
The V-6 engine is cheaper than the V-8 engine. So by doing away with the V-8 engine in the 2022 Tundra, Toyota can offer the truck at a lower price point. We wish it had more power though

Number two. Our second disappointment with the new Tundra is that it does not have tow hooks in the front.
Their removal can only be for aerodynamic reasons. It is also true that not having tow hook gives the Tundra a cleaner look. However, tow hooks are a must-have if you need to pull a vehicle. They are usually designed to withstand the full force of the vehicle being pulled.
So for a vehicle as practical as a truck, tow hooks can be essential. They are also important for vehicle recovery so without them you don’t have this potential lifesaver.
Thankfully you can get tow hooks as an accessory and add them to the truck later on but we think they should have come as standard.

Number three. Another disappointment with the 2022 Tundra is that it does not come with a multifunctional tailgate.
The tailgate of the Tundra features a simple electric lock and unlock system. This falls short when compared with the multi-functional tailgate of the GMC Sierra. The beautifully-designed GMC tailgate easily converts into a two-step ladder which you can use to climb onto the bed of the truck. It even comes with a handle that you hold on to when climbing onto the truck.
The Toyota style is keeping things simple. That could be the reason there is no multi-functional tailgate in the new Tundra. It could also be to keep the price of the truck down.
However, people love these trucks for their versatility. It’s no wonder why many are more excited about the GMC Sierra.

Number four. Next on our list of disappointments is related to the third. It is that the Tundra does not have integrated rear steps.
What the Tundra has is an optional “step” that has to come down for you to step and allow you to get into the truck. While the step feature is beautifully designed, it is not what you need if you are in a hurry and need to get onto the back of the truck quickly.
If you are in a hurry, what you’ll need are integrated rear steps like those in the GMC. The simple design is what makes the rear steps great. You don’t have to press any button for them to come out. It would have been very nice for Toyota to incorporate that type of step into the new Tundra.

Number five. Our fifth disappointment with the Tundra is that it does not offer an automatic 4-wheel drive.
This is a common option that North American truck manufacturers include in their vehicles, but Toyota chooses not to include it in the new Tundra.
This simplification of the truck is a cost reduction strategy. Toyota has made this decision because not too many people use the auto 4-wheel drive feature, so it is not in high demand.
There are still plenty of people out there who would love this option. Once you engage it. The vehicle automatically puts you in 4-wheel drive mode when you need extra power to get through rugged terrains.
We understand Toyota not including it if it wasn’t cost-effective but we’re still disappointed.

Number six. Our next disappointment is that it does not offer a bench seat or a six-seater option.
In some new generation trucks, including the GMC Sierra, the center console easily converts to an extra front passenger seat which allows the truck to carry 3 persons in the front.
Unfortunately, the 2022 Tundra does not have this six-seater feature. It is true that this feature is not in high demand, but it is a nice feature to have.
First, it increases the carrying capacity of a truck. Secondly, it will create a flat space between the driver seat and the regular front passenger seat. This flat space not only gives the front of your car a cleaner look, but it also comes in handy if you need to keep something close to you.
It’s another area where the GMC Sierra has the edge.
