The all-new GMC Canyon midsize pickup truck is here! Dead is the V6, and instead you get the 2.7L turbo inline-4 from the Chevy Silverado / GMC Sierra as your only engine option. Additionally, this GMC Canyon Denali gets fancy new tech, sharper exterior styling, and a more well-appointed interior cabin - but it might not all be as rosy as you would hope...

Clocking in at roughly $5,000 more than an almost equally-well equipped Chevrolet Colorado, and just a few grand below the Canadian pricing for a mid-trim, V8-equipped Chevrolet Silverado, it seems like finding just the right circumstance where this GMC Canyon Denali makes sense might get tricky. Add a few unwelcome surprises on top, and this new midsize truck has to fight ever-harder against its own Chevy brother, and competition in form of the new Ford Ranger, Toyota Tacoma, and even the Nissan Frontier. Watch the full review for our verdict!
