NEOWISE is the first comet I've ever seen, and one of the coolest things I've photographed! I filmed my entire process so you can see behind the scenes how these photos were taken.

My final process was to take 53 photos of the comet at high ISOs and relatively short shutter speeds (3 seconds), then average them together in Starry Landscape Stacker. It's software that auto-aligns the stars in a photo while keeping any land stationary. Then, it averages the photos together to reduce as much noise as possible. It's Mac-only, but similar software for Windows users is called Sequator.

I ended up with three photos of NEOWISE that I really like and will probably get printed before long. If you're able to go out and photograph, or even just see it, before it leaves, I highly recommend it! Bring binoculars and go somewhere with minimal light pollution!!!
