On August 27th, there was a traditional wreath-laying ceremony at President Johnson’s grave at the Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park. Participants featured Ben Barnes, former Texas Lieutenant Governor and LBJ protégé, and Luci Baines Johnson, the president's daughter.

Lyndon Baines Johnson, 36th President of the United States, died in 1973 and is buried at the LBJ Ranch, near his birthplace in Stonewall, Texas.
