The Henry Ramey Upcher lifeboat based in Sheringham, North Norfolk was build by legendary boatbuilder Lewis 'Buffalo' Emery in 1894 and was used to save 202 lives in the 40 years that she was in service.

The lifeboat required a crew of 28 and was a rowing & sailing lifeboat designed in the style of the double-ended North Norfolk crab boats.

The Henry Ramey Upcher was the second of the fishermen's lifeboats in Sheringham, the first being the Augusta and for some years there was also an RNLI lifeboat in the town which is where the Sheringham pub 'The Two Lifeboats' took it's name from.

The boat is still housed in the original shed at the top of the Sheringham fishermen's slipway and is open to the public during the summer months (opening hours available here: https://sheringhamsociety.com/opening...)
