Hopefully this helps someone doing the same repair. Bottom line, while it may look like a quick repair on the surface, the bolt hidden behind the a/c compressor bracket is what adds complexity to the repair.

Have a T50 torx socket on hand, as well as an E7 internal torx socket to remove the one stud for the compressor. Removing that stud will give you the ability to swing the compressor away.
