Many of the existing robot heads use a large number of actuators to emulate facial expressions. It is justifiable to use more actuators to completely imitate the intricate motions of human facial muscles, but to imitate the basic facial expressions, the number of actuators used can be reduced. This project was an attempt to develop a robot head that utilizes only 7 actuators to achieve basic facial expressions.
