This is the introductory lesson of the second Arabic course by Dr. Imran Hamza Alawiye. It is aimed at those who have completed the eighteen lessons of the first series entitled ‘Arabic from the Beginning: Part One’ and have gained competence in reading and writing the Arabic script. In this first short lesson, you will revise some of the conversational phrases taught in the first course and build upon them through the addition of new vocabulary.

The course as a whole is based on the book ‘The Key to Arabic Book Two’ by Dr. Alawiye, which is available from the publisher's website: www.gatewaytoarabic.com. http://gatewaytoarabic.com/key-to-ara...

The course introduces students to simple sentence structures and key aspects of Arabic grammar. By following this series, you will gain an understanding of non-verbal and verbal sentences and will be introduced to past and present tense verbs in their simplest singular forms. You will also learn about attached and detached singular pronouns, uses of the three different cases (nominative, accusative and genitive), masculine and feminine nouns and adjectives, interrogatives (questioning words), adverbs, prepositions and many other points of grammar.

Alongside the course material from ‘The Key to Arabic Book Two’, Dr. Alawiye also teaches useful vocabulary and expressions that can be used in conversation.
