The scientific community is unsure if we've found a room-temperature superconductor or if there's scientific malpractice at play. However, this is challenging as superconductivity prefers cold temperatures and high pressures. Dubious scientific behavior has led to previous paper retractions, which clouds the latest claim of superconductivity. The latest study demonstrated a sharp drop in resistance and an increase in specific heat, but further validation is required. Additionally, the issue of reproducibility and commercial interests arises. More research from independent groups is needed to determine if this is a true room-temperature superconductor.
