We've finally got our electric BCS working well with the deep ripper or subsoiler tooth so here's a video. We replaced 10" wheels with 12" last year in order to add the big cast iron wheel weights (75lbs each!) and with the combined weight of the wheels and doubling up our battery packs we have a very heavy BCS with adequate traction to pull the subsoiler tooth at a depth of between 6 and 10 inches, mostly depending on how loose the soil surface is and how poor or traction is consequently.

The wings to widen the subsoiler tooth were added and then trimmed down until we were happy with the balance of draft vs. widened effect. Angle of attack is intended to be 20 degrees from horizontal based on a bit of subsoiler research but that proves hard to maintain.

The BCS was converted to battery electric power several years ago and has been a huge success. Check my other videos for more info about the conversion process.
