Our BCS 2-wheeled tractor, which we converted to battery-electric power more than 3 years ago has been a great success so far but some leaky oil seals and the desire to switch from 10" to 12" wheels means it's time for a teardown and inspection.

This presents a good opportunity to see how the home-built drivetrain is holding up and see if the motor is showing any signs of wear after 3 years. The short answer, no problems at all, the electric drivetrain looks like it'll last 20 years before it even needs new brushes for the DC motor!
