Until 2014, the BMW E30 was still powered by an S50 M3 3.0 engine. The new concept was developed and manufactured entirely in-house by Hauri Autotechnik. The 1.9-liter BMW engine with Rotrex compressor, charge-air cooler, dry sump, single choke, freely programmable Bosch MS3 engine control unit. The engine was completely rebuilt on the basis of the BMW E36 1.9-liter engine.
