ABSTRACT:
McLarens Aviation is the world’s leading provider of claims, asset, and risk management services together with aircraft technical services, to the global aviation industry. The company performs claims management, loss adjusting, pre-risk and damage surveying, and auditing services for companies throughout the world.

In this lecture, the guest speaker will explain the real role of insurance adjusters and the subjects they get involved in, the interaction with insurance companies, brokers, operators, investigators and Lawyers amongst other aspects and show a few details on interesting events and circumstances encountered in the course of handling the unknown and unexpected.


ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
John has handled many insurance claims of different types and value. He now specialises in complex matters, and major incidents and accidents in various geographical regions.

John completed an apprenticeship and further studies followed by working at number of locations in the UK, Europe and Australia as a licensed engineer during which he qualified as a private pilot. After ten years in aircraft engineering John was awarded the IFA Scholarship to study in France with Snecma (now Safran), working on the CFM56 program and is now fluent in French.

As an experienced aircraft engineer he subsequently managed a period of product support with several airline customers on behalf Safran. He then sought a role combining airframes and engines again to use his experience and interest in the unexpected. He actually looked for a role with insurance companies.

In 1998 he joined what was then Airclaims and which has since morphed into McLarens Aviation where he has progressed to be the Regional Director for Europe and Russia overseeing offices in London, Paris, Madrid, Frankfurt and Moscow.
