Former patient Kathleen Grace was honored for her bravery and perseverance at the Tribute to Courage Gala 2024. In June 2020, having just released an acclaimed album, the jazz vocalist and music educator suffered a traumatic brain injury following a fall alone in her home. For the next nine months she navigated a long, uncertain recovery. Luckily, Kathleen discovered Casa Colina’s Transitional Living Center, where she underwent months of Day Treatment to address cognitive deficits, fatigue, sensory issues, and crippling anxiety . Now, nearly four years later, she has returned to music, teaching, and performing, rebuilding herself in the process and finding new inspiration in music and in life.
