One of two Tribute to Courage 2024 honorees, Gold-medal-winning Paralympic cyclist Samantha Bosco was involved in a crash on a training ride in the summer of 2021, sustaining major injuries that would jeopardize not only her cycling career but her ability to function in everyday life. With the help of Casa Colina's comprehensive continuum of rehabilitative care, Sam overcame a traumatic brain injury, balance and other sensory issues, and more to become the 2022 World Champion in the C4 time trial and road race at the UCI Para-Cycling World Championships, as well as the World Cup Series Overall winner. To this day, she continues to race competitively at the highest levels of paracycling.
