It’s that time of year again in the heritage railway calender as the Great Central Railway hosted their annual Autumn Steam Gala from September 29th-October 2nd 2022, with this years visitors staring the Mid Hants Railways Ivatt tank no 41312 & the NYMR’s J27 no 65894 as well as a reduced number from the railways home fleet owing to overhaul overruns and prolonged repairs

Filmed on Saturday 1st October the reduced number on locomotives running meant I could fit in nearly all the available steam fleet running (with the exception of 73156) on a variety of passenger and freight services, which includes as follows;

-78018 leaving Leicester North at Birstell heading northbound on set A
-48305 on set C at Woodthorpe
-92214 ‘Leicester City’ on “The Midlander” non stop working at Kinchley Lane
-46521 (on its last steaming appearance before its boiler ticket expires) at Woodthorpe, south of Quorn & Kinchley Lane
-41312 at Woodthorpe, Kinchley Lane & Thurmaston (this view taken from a pole)
-65894 at Woodthorpe on both set A & the mixed freight, south of Quorn, Kinchley Lane on the windcutters & Rothley Brook (with a display which has certainly been quite the debate)
