The door is finally installed and it feels great. Hanging the front door is milestone in any project, and gives the cabin a much more finished look. I still have about half a day's work sealing the exterior side of the windows as well as staining and finishing the exterior trims. I will complete those details this week. As always, please let me know if you have questions about anything I am doing. I realize that there are a few steps that are not visible in the videos and may require clarification.

In next week's video I will be back up on the roof installing the 4 clerestory windows and the metal siding. It will be interesting and I am looking forward to that project.

Also, I want to continue to clarify that this cabin is not off grid. It is on the outskirts of the community where I live. So far, all of the electricity on this project has been provided by a small 2000 watt portable generator, but I plan to run permanent power to the cabin within a few weeks. I have finished extending the utility company's power line to to property and am ready now to set the electrical meter.

The intro to the video is taken around the shoreline of Summit Lake. It is one of my favorite places on earth. I love the alpine country and am forever amazed by incredible scenery.

The outro is me and my grandson (Drox) refining our campfire-building skills. I love these summer evenings in Alaska, they will be gone so quickly. I want to enjoy every one of them I can, and this one was an absolute pleasure.

Thank you again for watching these videos. It is a great honor to be able to create them for everyone's enjoyment.

Peace to you from Alaska
