This is Ipanema Beach with the stunning mountain background taken at sunset. Located near the rocks (Arpadoar), this view looks back along the boardwalk.

I was in Rio for a month and loved every minute of it. If you get a chance I highly recommend you take a walk out to the rocks and watch the sunset. It's very popular with locals and the views are amazing.

Ipanema is a slightly more upmarket (expensive) area to stay in than Copacabana. I took this video using my iPhone X and a DJI OSMO Pro 2 gimbal.

Even though Ipanema is beautiful (and the area is heavily populated with people) you should always be cautious of crime.
