نا اسنے کوئی جنگ لڑی ہے نا ہی وہ کوئی غاذی ہے
سخن پروری سے اسنے جیتی اب تک ہر باذی ہے
ना उसने कोई जंग लडी है ना ही वो कोई गाज़ी है ।
सुखन परवरी से उसने जीती अब तक हर इक बाज़ी है।
Neither has he fought any war nor is he a religious conqueror,
He has won every bet by preserving the nourishment of the poetry.

شاعر کا میدان ھے کاغز قلم ھی اسکی تیغ بنے۔‎
فتح کرےآشعاروں کو وہ یون لفظوں سے بیگ بنے۔
دیکھ تخیل کی رفطار ھے پوری موج-روانی مین۔
ترکش بھرا ھے حرفون سے یہ اسکی تیر۔اندازی ھے۔
शायर का मैदान है कागज़,कलम ही उसकी तेग़ बने ।
फतेह करे आशआरों को वो यूँ लफ़जो़ं से बेग बने ।
देख तख़युल की रफ़्तार है पूरी मौज-रवानी में,
तरकश भरा है हर्फ़ों से ये उसकी तीर-अंदाज़ी है ।
The playfield of a poet is a paper and the pen becomes his sword,
By gaining a victory over poetical verses, he through his words becomes a Hero.
The expeditiousness of his imagination is in a euphoric state.
The quiver is filled with the alphabets and this happens to be his way of archery.

دنیا کے کئ بڑے مرحلے نغموں سے طے کیے گیے۔
ادب۔ادیب کے ھاتھوں سے کتنے انصاف ھیں دیے گیے۔
بنا عدالت بنا وکالت فطوے مانے جاتے ھیں۔
حیراں ھوں کہ نا وہ کوئی منصف ھے نا قاضی ھے۔
दुनिया के कई बडे मरहले नग़्मों से तय किए गये।
अदब-अदीब के हाथों से कितने इंसाफ हैं दिए गये ।
बिना अदालत बिना वक़ालत फ़तवे माने जाते हैं ।
हैरां हूं कि ना वो कोई मुंसिफ़ है ना क़ाज़ी है ।
Many of world’s major matters were resolved through the songs & justices have been granted through the literature and literary beings.
It is amazing how the verdicts are assented even without any court or argumentations though
I am astonished that he is neither a jurist nor a religious leader.

جو مسلے ناممکن ھیں شاید ھل ھو افسانوں سے۔
ایسے کچھ جزبات قدرتن کھے گیے دیوانوں سے۔
لفظوں کی طاقت مانیں یا خوشخولقی ھے شاعر کی۔
بڑی غنیمت ھے کہ ھر اک دل اس بات سے رازی ھے۔
जो मस्ले नामुमकिन हैं शायद हल हों अफ़्सानों से ।
ऐसे कुछ जज़्बात कुदरतन कहे गये दीवानों से ।
लफ़्ज़ों की ताक़त मानें या खु़शखु़लक़ी है शायर की ,
बडी ग़नीमत है कि हर इक दिल इस बात से राज़ी है ।
Maybe the solutions of the impossible tasks are derived by the poetry.
Some sorts of feelings have been naturally portrayed by the fanatical lovers,
Is it the power of words or the goodwill of the poet that every heart agrees to it which is extremely gratifying.

شاید کچھ مضبوط ھو سکے یھ دیوار ارادوں کی۔
تم سرتاج شاگردی کر لو گر معجز استادوں کی۔
آفتاب آساری ھے جس قلمکشئ مین سامعین
ھندستان مین اسد ھے اور ایران میں کوئی شرازی ھے۔
शायद कुछ मज़्बूत हो सके ये दीवार इरादों की ।
तुम सरताज शागिर्दी कर लो गर मोजिज़ उस्तादों की ।
आफ़ताब आसारी है जिस कलमकशी में सामईन ,
हिंदुस्तान में “असद” है और ईरान में कोई “शिराज़ी” है ।
The determination may become stronger, Sartaaj, if you be a disciple of the eminent Masters of Poetry.
Thou listeners, whose art of writing reflects the sunlight, in India there is ‘Asad-ullah Khan Ghalib’ and in Iran, someone like ‘Saadi Shirazi’.
