How to wrap a gift for someone who struggles to open presents. 🎄🎅🏼🎁
This is a great wrapping hack to help your loved ones who might find opening presents difficult from toddlers and young children, elderly relatives and disabled people.

The holiday season is well & truly upon us. I don't know about you but I bought a lot of gifts in the Black Friday sales which need wrapping so I thought I'd show you this neat little hack which can help make opening gifts easier. Share it with your friends & family as a friendly hint if, like me, you're someone who struggles in this area. Ian wrapped all my gifts like this last year, it was very thoughtful & made things so much easier for me!

Unwrapping gifts can be difficult for many people from people with chronic pain to those with muscle weaknesses or those who struggle with their fine motor skills. It can be useful for young children, elderly relatives or disabled loved ones. Gift bags are great but nothing can beat the joy of ripping into a gift if it can be made more accessible.

Here's how to wrap your gift:

1: Measure a piece of ribbon or string to the size of your gift & tie or tape a large loop at either end.

2: Cut your paper to size & wrap your ribbon around your gift with the loops at an end opening & use the weight of the gift to keep the ribbon in place. You can tape one end of the ribbon to the gift to give more tension which will make it easier to open but only really works with boxed gifts.

3: Wrap your gift as normal, being sure to keep the loops out at one end.

These loops means your loved ones can get a good grip without any fiddly bits meaning they can rip into their present using one or both loops, as you can see I got pretty excited. You can also keep the looped ribbon or string to reuse next year!

Will you give this technique a try? Can you think of anything which would make opening gifts easier for someone with a disability? Let me know in the comments & remember to save this post for when you do your wrapping!
