This video is just a quick overview of how I am engraving powder coated metal on the K40 Laser Engraver. This is great for many items including tumblers if you have a rotary unit. Some people will laugh at the K40, but it was the Laser that got me into the space. With some adjustments and tweaking it can be a pretty good piece of equipment.

For this video I am engraving a Mini Executor Beard Comb from HEIRCOMB. I make templates from a CAD drawing using the LYZ Extension from Scorch Works. Making templates for items you engrave often make it easy to setup the laser over and over again. One thing that I have found works great is using a card stock paper for quick cuts to allow you to position your items for engraving or cutting. Also in this video I will show you a quick easy way to make a nice finished product package using foam board cut on the K40 Laser!

I am also adding a milliamp meter to my laser so I can get everyone that asked the proper numbers for my engraving power setting! This will also be a quick and easy how to video! That I will link here:

Shout ot to HEIRCOMB.com

Shout out to Scorch Works for the LYZ extension with Inkscape, here is a link to their site:

Please don't hesitate to ask me questions in the comments, I know the K40 is bare bones for CO2 Lasers, but it can get you on your way for a minimal investment.
