Have you ever found a yellow fungus growing in your flowerpot? Leucocoprinus birmbaumii is an amazingly opportunistic fungus. It can be found in pot plants across the world, spread we think via the mulch used in potting mix. Where Stephen Axford and Catherine Marciniak live in the subtropics of northern NSW in Australia it is native species of the rainforest and one that Stephen occasionally time-lapses as it grows. It is a beautiful little mushroom.
