Lok Sabha Elections 2024 | Show cause notices were sent to BJP politician Dilip Ghosh and Congress leader Supriya Shrinate by the Election Commission of India on Wednesday, March 27, in response to statements made by Ghosh towards West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and BJP candidate for Lok Sabha Kangana Ranaut, respectively. 'Undignified and in bad taste' was how the Election Commission described Ghosh's statements against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Shrinate's remarks against Kangana Ranaut. They have been told to reply to the commission by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 29. The EC claimed in both notifications that the politicians' remarks prima facie violate the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) that is now in effect prior to the Lok Sabha elections.
