The 5-4-3-2-1 Technique (sometimes referred to as the 54321 Method) is a great coping tool that uses all five senses to help alleviate and manage anxiety and overstimulation. This grounding technique helps with these feelings by detaching you from the anxious thoughts and refocusing you onto the present moment by narrowing-in on each sense, one at a time.
