In this video, we will be making some Mountain brandy or otherwise known as Split Brandy!!

Mountain Brandy is simply put a mix of whiskey and brandy.

Below is the complete recipe.

First the Whiskey:

20 Litres Water 5.3 Gallons
3kg Malted Sorghum 6.6lbs
2.5kg Maize 5.5lbs

Gel the corn in 80C water for 60min
Allow to cool to 75C
Add the Sorghum to the water if the temp drops below 68C bring the temp up to 68C
Mix well and leave to stand for 90min
After 90min lift grains and allow to drain.

While draining prep your Apple

I use 7.5 kg (16.6lbs) of Apples that were blended to a pulp in a blender using some mashed water to assist the process.

Once blended add the apple pulp to the boiler and stir, If you want you can transfer it to another fermenter now I will be fermenting in my kettle.

Once cooled add your yeast I used a Whiskey yeast as well as a Brandy yeast.
