Twisted Metal 2 released in 1996 for the PlayStation 1. It was the second game in the series. Developed by Singletrac the same studio from the first game, they sought to improve and polish and make perfect everything they felt was lacking in their original effort while adding a ton more content, characters, and environments.

Many consider Twisted Metal 2 to be the pinnacle of car combat, a height no other game has been able to match inside or outside of this franchise. Featuring smooth, deep, and engaging gameplay set in a playful world with darkness lurking just under the surface. How could it not be in consideration for that spot? Even David Jaffe holds this game in high regard.
