Gigafactory Texas on 2 August 2021! This is where the Cyber Truck and Model Y will be built!

Return of the rains and thunderstorms. I tried a early flight this morning in an attempt to beat out the heavy rains, but only got about 50% of my normal footage before having to stop and land the drone before resuming flight about an hour later. Nevertheless, the early morning allowed for some nice interior shots around the west, north and south sides of the main site. As you can imagine, most of the work at Giga Texas this morning is inside due to the rain this morning.

We had a YouTube cross-channel event today with Barry from Bear's Workshop YouTube channel. He came out with friend Riley all the way from Arizona to see and fly at Giga Texas and try to get in some drone flying as well. His channel chronicles the Nikola factory build and has also been trying to do the same at the Lucid factory, both of which are in Arizona.

The really exciting news! I spoke to a on-site trusted source with knowledge of the construction and timelines of Giga Texas this morning and learned some interesting news. The biggest is that the first fully produced test Model Y (running, operational but not street legal) will be made in the next week or so here at Giga Texas!
This includes castings, stamping, welding, painting, drive trains, batteries, interior ... everything! It's a test of the production equipment, facilities and assembly lines and will be used also for training. This really gives an indication of how far along the interior of large areas of the factory already are! In addition, I was told that as far as production of the Model Y is concerned, Giga Texas is farther along than Giga Berlin by about a month at present time!
