Gigafactory Texas! This is where Model Y’s, and Cyber Truck production happens and soon, the Next Generation Car!

One last cold morning as this part of Texas transitions into Spring, and more rain during the morning, but trends to drier and warmer conditions begin tomorrow! Despite these conditions, many interesting new changes and areas of progress underway today around the site!

In the video introduction, I discuss a little about a photo and video shoot I (and my Cybertruck) participated in yesterday at Spiderwood Studios, located north and east of Giga Texas. I was also able to bring my Cybertruck to Giga Texas for the first time, a sort of homecoming since it was built here about a month or so ago!

Some of the highlights to look for in the images and video today are:

The Boring company crews appear to have had the Prufrock 3 drill head do some testing as we can see the dirt in front of it disturbed and some of the dirt has entered the cutting slots of the head. More work on the supporting infrastructure and equipment was visible today and the fact that the Prufrock 3 has shown some testing indicates there is power supplied to the boring machine. Several viewers have speculated that the slow progress was due to a lack of available power.

The Cybertruck production rate has noticeably increased, as hundreds more were visible all over the site today, and we also saw a new process flow of Cybertrucks to and through the new End-of-Line facility. Based on my observations over the past week, I now estimate the Cybertruck production rate is between 900 and 1000 weekly, or near 4,000 monthly. This would indicate a near 50K annual run rate, which is in-line with my earlier projections and positions production well for an expected second shift starting work sometime in the 2nd quarter.

The new EOL facility shows Cybertrucks arriving and being held temporarily on the east side and entering into the EOL facility on the north side. Here, crews were busy spraying off mud from the tires and lower sections of the Cybertrucks as they entered the facility. After processing, Cybertrucks exit on the south end to the Superchargers, then proceed to the west test track along the west side of the EOL facility. After this, they enter the outbound lot.

The south end building extension continues to have crews working on the ground floor excavations, fashioning rebar cages and structures that are then assembled into the three large, parallel excavations that are evenly spaces from west to east on the ground floor. In addition, we see a new section of steel assembly for the extension, this time butting up against the original SE angled corner near the four new large tanks. This work seems to have disrupted Cybertruck flow out of the south end to some extent.

Possibly related to the south end steel assembly and Cybertruck flow out of the factory disruptions, on the west side of General Assembly, we see a new red and gray ramp being assembled and ready for connection to one of the new receiving doors. This might be the new exit point for the Cybertrucks, at least for a while until the south end construction is completed.

The final highlighted area is the east side of casting where more screw-type piers are being installed in the section that had the concrete removed and now, we see another large section of concrete just to the north marked and in progress of getting saw cut for removal, so it is possible the extension of the casting structure will continue to grow, more than doubling the current size under construction!
