Playing a super-simple but fun VR multi-player game developed on the Vrui VR toolkit and its collaboration infrastructure.


The original game I refer to is "Ballblazer" for the 8-bit Atari computer systems:    • Ballblazer - Atari Gameplay  


The version I made back around 2002 or so was more similar to Ballblazer in that the bumper cars (called "Rotofoils" in Ballblazer) had a force field to catch and hold the ball, and a bumper to push the ball or other cars. There are still controls and logic for those force fields in this iteration of the game, but they're currently not connected. It's very playable and fun as it is, and I'm planning on adding in the force fields later as an option, maybe as power-ups.
