In this episode, we sit down with TigerEye’s cofounder Tracy Young. Tracy was former CEO and cofounder of PlanGrid, an Initialized portfolio company that was sold to AutoDesk for almost $1B in 2018. In this episode, Tracy shares her advice on what founders should consider before an acquisition.

1. Companies are bought, not sold.

2. Don’t waste your time. You are either selling the company, or you’re not. There’s really nothing in between.

3. Pay attention to the earnings calls of public companies in your industry. If your potential acquirer is a public company, there’s a lot of information that’s disclosed during the earnings call.

4. “We always anticipated a call from Autodesk, and we were right about that.”
