Five months have passed since Deer Camp, that can only mean one thing, Spring Trip 2024 is on!
Rolling trough Dover on the way up to the Wilkes-Barre INTL airport to pick up Shawn, yes @sintax77 is joining us this time to get up to the cabin for the first time in over a year.
Shawn and I got there a day or so before Mike and Steve arrived bringing along a new 4k 55" TV to replace our current one. Unfortunately we still seem to be in that rain pattern when we go up. It really got me a few times last year, and is continuing on into 2024. But you make the best of it. Shawn and I checked out the local fishing spot, and tried for an hour to two to get a fish on to no avail.
When the Chairman and Cook arrived late in the day, we left the TV off, circled the chairs and talked til well past midnight. Just catching up with whats going on in each others lives.
Good food all around again, we started it off with roast duck, and smoked pork chops, Steve cooked up two huge tomahawk rib-eyes. Of course we had to hit Tony's for pizza, wings and a Stromboli!
Pine creek was muddy and raging when we all tried to get out there and fish, so we headed up to Galeton where we ran into the Chief of police who recognized us all. It was great talking with Chief Joey for a few minutes.
Nothing like coffee and whoopee pies for an afternoon snack, the Stoney Creek general store has many, many flavors, all delicious if your into a little indulgence.
The trip ended with just Shawn and again tying to catch just one fish each at the falls to no avail.
Back to the airport to send Shawn back west again until Deer Camp, yes, it will be here before you know it!
